Minor - Player Pitch - Little League Softball - Girls
The Minor League Softball Division is for participants 7-11 years old and can be operated with multiple divisions , AA and AAA, that are based on age and/or ability.
The diamond has 60-foot base paths and a 35-foot pitching distance. Softballs will be 11”.
AA - Only adult pitchers will be used in the first half of the season. In the second half of the season, which begins April 13, the pitcher shall be a player. Pitchers are limited to 3 innings per game.
AAA - During the first half of the season the pitcher shall be a player. The pitcher shall be allowed to pitch until the batter A) hits the ball into fair territory, B) strikes out, or C) bases are loaded and the batter has a 4-ball count or the batter is hit by pitch with bases loaded. When the bases are loaded and there are 4 balls to the hitter or the batter is hit by pitch, the adult pitcher (from the offensive team – either the 1st or 3rd base coach) shall pitch.
In the 2nd half of the season, ONLY a player will be allowed to pitch. A pitcher can only pitch a maximum of three (3) innings in any game.
The team from the AAA division with the best record will represent their league in the District 4 Tournament of Champions. The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or “All Stars”) of 8-10-year-olds or 9-11-year-olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament.
